Planning a metal roof in Tucson, Marana or Oro Valley? Nominal Builders is expanding its construction offering to metal roofing. Tell us whether you have an existing home, a new build or a covered outdoor project so we can review the fit and installation scope.
Request a metal roofing estimate or call 520-261-5820.

Start with the roof you have and the result you want
- Replacement: describe the existing covering, known issues and any previous repair work.
- New construction: send the roof plan and identify the current design stage.
- Porch or patio cover: include the structure, posts and connection to the house.
The property review establishes what can be included in a proposal. System selection, installation responsibility, preparation and any related structural work need to be confirmed before work is agreed.
Standing seam and other metal panel options
Standing seam panels create raised lines along the roof. Systems differ in how the panels join and fasten, including clipped, mechanically seamed and nail-flange designs. An exposed-fastener panel is a different system, with fasteners passing through the face of the panel.
Appearance alone does not establish suitability. Ask which exact product is proposed, the roof conditions it is designed for and which installation details apply. The manufacturer’s panel-system overview illustrates these distinctions; product availability and suitability for your project are confirmed during review.

What affects a metal roof estimate?
- Roof layout: size, slope, valleys, roof edges and transitions.
- Existing conditions: removal, disposal and any deck or structural repairs identified.
- Selected system: panel, finish, fasteners, underlayment and flashings.
- Penetrations and connections: vents, equipment, walls and attached covers.
- Access and responsibilities: staging, associated work, approvals and the agreed installation scope.
A roof-specific estimate is more useful than a price based only on the home’s floor area. Read our metal roofing estimate checklist before comparing proposals.
What the written proposal should establish
- The exact roof system and work boundaries.
- Who performs the installation and related construction.
- Included removal, preparation, flashings and cleanup.
- How unexpected conditions and changes are handled.
- The applicable product warranty and any workmanship terms.
Questions before you start
Can I request a standing seam roof?
Yes. Select metal roofing and describe the look or product you are considering. We review the building and confirm whether the requested system fits the proposed scope.
Can the roof go over the existing covering?
That needs a property and system review. Do not assume the existing covering, deck or structure can remain; the proposal should state the preparation and removal work.
Will a metal roof lower cooling costs?
The material name alone does not establish the result. Roof finish, the complete assembly, insulation and the building’s conditions all matter. Ask for the selected product’s performance information rather than a blanket savings promise.
Can you include a patio or porch cover?
Include the whole project in your request. We will review the structure, roof connections and roofing work together.
What information should I send?
Include your city or ZIP code, current roof type, approximate size if known, plans if available, and photographs taken from a safe location.
